The by-election in Feltham and Heston yesterday was a disgrace.
After a record low turnout of just 29%, do they really deserve an MP.
Perhaps if the turnout is below say 40%, then the election should be rerun.

What this blog will eventually be about I do not know.
But it will be about how I’m coping with the loss of my wife and son to cancer in recent years and how I manage with being a coeliac and recovering from a stroke. It will be about travel, sport, engineering, food, art, computers, large projects and London, that are some of the passions that fill my life.
And hopefully, it will get rid of the lonely times, from which I still suffer.

Surely this is a reflection on what the people are thinking on who governs the country. There is little difference between the parties as they all seem to be looking after them selves and have no interest in the people they represent so the turnout shows that the people feel the same about their MP’s. I totally disagree in your comments as it would mean that taking the argument a stage further then you would make it compulsory to vote and this is not what we want in this country. Surely we have the right to abstain and should not be forced to do anything we do not want to do. Remember this is GREAT Britain not some middle East state that dominated it’s people.

We shouldn’t have compulsory voting. It’s so Australian!!
I stand by my statement, that if there is a low vote, then there should be a rerun. With different candidates of course.
