Smokers’ Mess Outside a Pub
I took this picture outside a pub yesterday morning.
Isn’t smoking a filthy habit! I’m sure the road-sweeper will agree.

About This Blog
What this blog will eventually be about I do not know.
But it will be about how I’m coping with the loss of my wife and son to cancer in recent years and how I manage with being a coeliac and recovering from a stroke. It will be about travel, sport, engineering, food, art, computers, large projects and London, that are some of the passions that fill my life.
And hopefully, it will get rid of the lonely times, from which I still suffer.
Why Anonymous? That’s how you feel at times.

One man’s mess is another man’s employment. Perhaps road sweeprs are happy with litter louts as it ensures their future. Not being a road sweeper, i agree and think that smokers should take their rubbish home. It never seems to amaze me that smokers don’t count cigarette butts as litter. If they wer enforced to take theim home, it might tip them over the balance so theiy give up.

The pub has a litter bin outside and ashtrays on the wall.

It’s funny that a single pub is responsible for the most of my bike wheels punctures. On the days Arsenal plays, that pub I used to cycle by on my way home always had all the adjacent road space covered with shards from glasses and bottles. Ironically, it’s named “12 pins”.
I changed the job recently and now has another route luckily.

Have you reported this to te council?

Hm, no, and maybe I should have… But I don’t know how that could’ve bee avoided – the road sweepers do their job well and in several hours after the event everything is clear again. And you can hardly persuade fans to be less expressive.

I complained to Islington about the number of signs on upper Street that cluttered up the pavement and the clutter improved. They have a Street Team, who deals with such problems. Suppose it was a less experienced cyclist than you and they fell off in the path of a vehicle.
