Why Do The French Like the Queen So Much?
According to this article on the BBC web site, the Diamond Jubilee has gone down well with the French.
So why is this? Could it be that she’s probably the only English-speaking leader, who speaks reasonable French in public?
Could be they regret beheading their own royality

The French have a strange view of authority. I was once told by a Frenchman, that in most countries like say Great Britain, The Netherlands or Sweden, your brother joined the Police, you wouldn’t be too bothered, but in France, if he did, you’d likely never talk to him again. He said it’d all to do with Napoleon and how the Policespied on everybody. I don’t know, as I’m not French.
