The Galician Gaita
I hadn’t realised that there are bagpipes in Spain, but I saw this guy in Santiago de Compostela.
They are called the Galician gaita and they seemed to my untutored ear to be less harsh that those of our friends in the North.

What this blog will eventually be about I do not know.
But it will be about how I’m coping with the loss of my wife and son to cancer in recent years and how I manage with being a coeliac and recovering from a stroke. It will be about travel, sport, engineering, food, art, computers, large projects and London, that are some of the passions that fill my life.
And hopefully, it will get rid of the lonely times, from which I still suffer.
Why Anonymous? That’s how you feel at times.

An Italian friend of mine gave me a CD of some excellent Spanish bagpipe music by Hevia. Wort a listen. This music is used in a few Spanish films.

I grew up around bagpipes, I love them – we had a lone piper at my dad’s funeral
