Crap Dangerous Staircases Of East London

I have taken some pictures of the staircases in various railway stations across East London.

There is no alternatives to any of these, as they are lift-free stations. So just imagine, how the elderly, those in wheel-chairs and those with buggies cope.

  1. We cope by using other stations or other forms of transport. Certainly in Manchester there is indication that there is no disabled access before you get off the train. Now though most are having lifts fitted

  2. Here in London, there are so many stations, that fitting lifts is a very slow process. And it is very difficult in Underground stations.

That’s why the buses are so important and must be made fully step free access for wheelchairs, the lighter scooters and buggies.
