I found this excellent summary on City AM.

What this blog will eventually be about I do not know.
But it will be about how I’m coping with the loss of my wife and son to cancer in recent years and how I manage with being a coeliac and recovering from a stroke. It will be about travel, sport, engineering, food, art, computers, large projects and London, that are some of the passions that fill my life.
And hopefully, it will get rid of the lonely times, from which I still suffer.
Why Anonymous? That’s how you feel at times.
I’ll have two children going into secondary school in the next 2-4 years. Once they start wondering what sort of career to go for, they could do a lot worse than this!

I do wonder if I became an engineer, as I grew up in a print works with all sorts of machines and toys, surrounded by a London that was changing as trams and then trolley buses disappeared, Routemasters appeared in thousands, the Victoria line opened and lines all over North East London and to Liverpool and Manchester were electrified.
