  1. Lets hope this is finally the start of the long awaited promised station so hundreds of thousands of journeys can be made without suffering the misery of the local congestion and facilitation of inward investment to this ignored and desolate corner of Waltham Forest can commence.

    • They looked purposeful, as if they were looking for a sensible place to setup the site canteen.

I have a feeling that they’ll reopen the Hall Farm Curve, so that trains can run from Stratford to Chingford.

In the next twenty years TfL have a big problem in that they are aiming to run 24 tph through Brunel’s Thames Tunnel. South of the river, it’s not a problem to find extra destinations for the other eight trains, but in the north would Highbury and Islington and Dalston Junction be able to handle the trains. So they might open up the Eastern Curve at Dalston and then run a few trains via Stratford, Lea Bridge and Walthamstow to Chingford. Effectively, they’d be creating Thameslink 2 linking to Crossrail. It would also enable them to perhaps sort out the Central Line at Shoreditch, by giving a bypass, whilst they rebuilt the Central Line and connected it to the Overground.

I don’t think we’ve seen nothing yet in East London.
