UK Energy Production

This web site, seems to ask a lot of my questions about UK Energy Production.

  1. It does seem to support renewable energy, but, there does not appear to be a long term stratergy. There is a lot of talk of satisfying the ability to achieve net zero carbon by 2030 , or so, but is it achievable in 50 years and more into the future? Why are we so obsessed with a zero carbon environment? How will we grow food and how will trees grow with no CO2? Are we over thinking how the world works?

  2. It’s more about being carbon-neutral, than zero-carbon. After all, quite a lot of soft fruit is enhanced with carbon-dioxide from industrial processes.

I think, it is very unlikely flying between the UK and Australia will ever be zero-carbon. But by planting the right number of trees, it could be carbon neutral!
