I’ve seen the photos of the lift to the Elizabeth Line at the Barbican elsewhere and I got the same impression on seeing yours; is it really so uninvitingly grubby and anonymous as it strikes me? I get feeling that in 10 years time, with wear and tear coupled with the inevitable limitations on the LUL/TfL maintenance budgets it will by then.
Love to hear your opinion.
I think it could be so in the case of fire, firefighters have easy access to the building and their fire header tank on level zero.
I heard one story of a metro in a tunnel, where to save costs, they cut out a fire access and sold off the site. The fire brigade then refused to sanction the design and the site had to be bought back to create the access. This cost a lot of money, as the developer had put a block of flats there.
