It was perhaps a first for The Times today in that the picture on the front page was a fish. Not any fish but a much loved carp called Benson from Peterborough.

What this blog will eventually be about I do not know.
But it will be about how I’m coping with the loss of my wife and son to cancer in recent years and how I manage with being a coeliac and recovering from a stroke. It will be about travel, sport, engineering, food, art, computers, large projects and London, that are some of the passions that fill my life.
And hopefully, it will get rid of the lonely times, from which I still suffer.
Why Anonymous? That’s how you feel at times.

The Times has always been a groundbreaking paper. Years ago they were the first national daily paper to feature a full length nude female on the front page. Now they are the first to feature a bif dead fish. RIP Benson

When I was a child there was another carp called Clarissa in Hereford. Dick Walker, a famous carp angler, either caught or knew her. I have searched the Internet and apparently she ended up in London Zoo.
