The Anonymous Widower

Thick and Easy

I was given this in Hong Kong to help me swallow.  I thought it affected me. When I finally got hold of the tin in Addenbrookes, it said it had no allergies, but contained maltodextrin. I react to the latter, but then the EU says it’s OK for me.  Is the EU a coeliac? No!

  1. That is interesting, I know that some of the nutritional stuff isnt suitable for everyone. Fortijuce and Fortsip contain animal or fish gelatine and so are not suitable for vegans, vegetarians, Jews or Muslims! I was involved in setting up a nutrition enhancement project for people with cancer, turning these products into shakes etc, by adding nice things to them. Some of the resulting drinks tasted quite pleasant! This was before diagnosis, so I dont recall what other stuff was in them, but it could well be the case they have wheat or barley derived ingredients.

Which leaves those of us with CD in a bit of a mess really.
