It’s Just Two Years to the London Olympics

AS it is just two years to the London Olympics, the BBC has had both television and Radio 5 broadcasting from the Olympic Park today.

On the Radio 5 phoe-in this morning, you got the usual doom-mongers and those from Scotland and the North decrying what they think is a waste of money. I got on and spoke badly about what I saw at the weekend and the public transport legacy.  Others put it much better about how they were going to enjoy the Games.

I ended by imploring Nicky Campbell to use the North London Line to get home to Clapham.  I forgot that he should go to Willesden and then take the West London Line.

  1. We the people from Scotland and the North have to ask why all of the money is being spent when we have a Internationally accepted Mountain Bike track yet the South East have to spend Money building an other track in and around London. If we want to go to the Games it will cost us an arm and a leg to try and get a Hotel and transportation. If it is the LONDON GAMES then let London pay for it and not use all of the UK money which is totally unfair on the rest of the UK. We are fed up of everything being spent in the South East of England and not being shared over the whole country.

    Jock of the North.

  2. But then you’ve had two Commonwealth Games in living memory, have another in a couple of years and we’re all in a financial mess because of two of your uselesscountrymen, who wanted power above all, tried to control everything and would have taxed sex if they could have got away with it.

Anyway haven’t you got two of the most disstrous public projects in Edinburgh; the funny-wee Scottish Parliament, much loved by such as Billy Connolly and the Edinburgh tram to nowhere?
