Thanks to Liz for pointing me at Ship of Fools and their alternative take on Papal Merchanise.

This website is actually a Christian one, but it pokes fun at some of the more outlandish aspects. Ridiculous gadgets and “decorative” items are one of its favourite, and it has done a very special page for the Pope’s visit.

I couldn’t possibly comment, as I haven’t seen any of the official merchandise.

Some of the official merchandise isnt much better! It is on BBC website, but I cant find it. On Ship of Fools it also highlights teddy bears dressed as William Carey and Rowan Williams, and the bears looks scarily like the people. I am just relieved that my bear mad aunt didnt know about them, she was a big fan of Rowan Williams.

Perhaps it is me, but so much of that stuff is in my opinion sacriligous tat. My keyring has the Serenity Prayer on, but that is actually for 12 step reasons, not specifically faith. And I dont have any other things like that at all

About This Blog

What this blog will eventually be about I do not know.

But it will be about how I’m coping with the loss of my wife and son to cancer in recent years and how I manage with being a coeliac and recovering from a stroke. It will be about travel, sport, engineering, food, art, computers, large projects and London, that are some of the passions that fill my life.

And hopefully, it will get rid of the lonely times, from which I still suffer.

Why Anonymous? That’s how you feel at times.
