The Devil Would be Proud of Me!
I’ve just found a whole box of bibles in the loft. They went straight in the skip!
The only religious book I’ve kept is a Protestant Dictionary. It’s the funniest book you’ll ever read!

What this blog will eventually be about I do not know.
But it will be about how I’m coping with the loss of my wife and son to cancer in recent years and how I manage with being a coeliac and recovering from a stroke. It will be about travel, sport, engineering, food, art, computers, large projects and London, that are some of the passions that fill my life.
And hopefully, it will get rid of the lonely times, from which I still suffer.
Why Anonymous? That’s how you feel at times.
I dont suppose one of those Bibles was in Latin, is the skip still there? I really really want a Latin Bible for my Latin Class, and they are rare to find and expensive to buy

Sorry, there was nothing more exotic than a New English bible.

oh well, it was worth an ask. Jerome’s Vulgate are few and far between. The modern ones are actually translations back into Latin of modern version of the Bible. So no use for studying medieval Latin, which is what I am doing.

Have you tried bookfinder.com. Most old books these days are only fit for burning,as no-one wants them, so your bible might be easier to find than you think. There are also a lot of facimiles of old books starting to appear, as they are out of copyright.
