Marmite Banned in Denmark

According to reports like this, Marmite has now been banned in Denmark.

It doesn’t bother me.  I must be the only man in the world, who made his late wife a morning cup of Marmite before she got up in the morning for at least a dozen years, after she cut down on coffee.

I think I used to eat it as a child, but I haven’t had a taste for perhaps ten years or so, when I accidentally got C’s toast under my scrambled egg.

  1. I had jaundice as an 8 year old…there was a rigid diet to stick to…and marmite was part of what I was allowed. Apparently the vitamin content is good…

I loathed the stuff then…and still wont have any of it..no way.

Anyone who wants my share of that stuff is welcome..

    • I wouldn’t choose to eat it. I prefer my toast with a decent marmalade or jam. Usually from Essex.

  2. Take one antionette savile bread roll. Split it, lightly butter it, add marmite to one side and put cheese on the other. Put it into a toastabag and then into the toaster.

    Delicious

    • I’m still not convinced. Anyway, with only one hand that can’t stand hot or cold, that sounds like it would be too difficult for me. I usually flick the toast up and catch it with my right hand.

  3. My hand cant feel hot or cold properly, or knives, hence I need someone to split the roll for me!

    I have always liked Marmite

I had called into my local Starbucks for a posh coffee on my way home from somewhere and they were doing a cheese and marmite panini and I could smell it, and came home and invented my own version!
