I Picked Up A Fallen Woman Last Night
Not one of Gladstone’s Ladies of the Night, but a young Estonian, who’d had a pedal failure on her bike last night, and virtually ended up in the road in front of a bus.
It could be that someone had made that mistake of forcing a right hand thread nut on the side, where you need a left hand thread.
It’s a common mistake. I did it in the 1950s and I still remembered.
The Age of Chivalry is still Alive.
Instead of being called “Baby Boomers” . . . we are actually the Age of Politeness & Manners . . . Not only a Gentleman, but the Knowledge of Failure {RH & LH Threads}.

I think the Age of Chivalry is still alive in London. There was a story yesterday about how a teenager rescued a guy who’d been knocked off his bike by a bendy bus. He got a special award for it too.
My financial adviser, who is a keen cyclist, says that bikes now are not always handed, but the pedals just slip on.
