  1. There are new ticket barriers at the Overground entrance of the Walthamstow Central station. These new gates are not active by now.
Furthermore the entrance to the Tube is now separated from the Overground entrance at least at the Station Approach site.
Will there be a new concept in place to simplify the usage and transfer between Tube and Overground? Any news when these new gates will be enabled?

  2. It seems more often these days, you come across a station, where the barriers aren’t switched on.

The reason at Walthamstow could be that to go from the Underground to the Overground, you have to go through the Underground barriers and then you might be on the platform. So the design of the station means that people might get charged twice or stuck inside the barriers.

There are plans in the pipeline.

  4. I have a Google Alert on the station, which seems pretty reliable.
