I Have Just Been Microsofted!
I run Office 365 and today it updated itself.
Now nothing in the suite works.
I don’t like automatic updates, as they have this power to drop you deep in it.
I usually only upate software, when there is a problem!

What this blog will eventually be about I do not know.
But it will be about how I’m coping with the loss of my wife and son to cancer in recent years and how I manage with being a coeliac and recovering from a stroke. It will be about travel, sport, engineering, food, art, computers, large projects and London, that are some of the passions that fill my life.
And hopefully, it will get rid of the lonely times, from which I still suffer.
Why Anonymous? That’s how you feel at times.
Best IT thing I’ve ever done is ditch Microsoft and switch to Apple. Now I never have any computer problems.

But then Apple are rip-off merchants! They are also incompatible with other software systems!
Note that today is the 14th, when all the automatic updates kick in!

Surprisingly, I don’t think Apple is a rip off; all operating systems upgrades are free downloads – I have just upgraded my iMac to iOS Mojave. I run 365 for Mac on it, and it gives me no problems. If I do have a problem I contact Apple by email, with my phone number, and they call me to talk me through how to fix it. If I agree, I can let the engineer into my computer, online, for him to fix things. The “computer” bit is the back of the screen, unlikely to to get coffee spilt on it. I use a touchpad instead of a mouse, which suits my disability, especially since I had my finger removed. I have a little box called an AirPort, which collects and saves everything I do, automatically.
And I have had got twice of as long out if it than most people get out of PCs, and it is working as well as it did the day I bought it. So to me, they aren’t a rip off they are an investment.
