Pilots: New Boeing Like Rodeo Ride
The title of this post is the same as that of an article in today’s copy of The Times.
The article gives quotes from experienced pilots.
These pilots give me little confidence in the aircraft.
I doubt, I’ll ever knowingly book a flight in any Boeing 737 MAX

About This Blog
What this blog will eventually be about I do not know.
But it will be about how I’m coping with the loss of my wife and son to cancer in recent years and how I manage with being a coeliac and recovering from a stroke. It will be about travel, sport, engineering, food, art, computers, large projects and London, that are some of the passions that fill my life.
And hopefully, it will get rid of the lonely times, from which I still suffer.
Why Anonymous? That’s how you feel at times.

There seem to be a few problems with the 737: –
1. The aircraft has a very long fuselage – prone to tipping up or down.
2. Engines don’t fit under the wings so they are mounted further forward – creating potential centre of gravity issues.
3. Boeing seem to have change the philosophy of their fly by wire. Formerly Airbus planes would not let the pilot fly outside the envelope, whereas for Boeing the pilot was always in control although the aircraft would warn of potential errors (e.g. a stall).
There were early problems with the Airbus back in 1990/1 partly due to pilot unfamiliarity. – with crashes at Bangalore and near Stuttgart caused by pilots inadvertently setting controls incorrectly.
