What this blog will eventually be about I do not know.
But it will be about how I’m coping with the loss of my wife and son to cancer in recent years and how I manage with being a coeliac and recovering from a stroke. It will be about travel, sport, engineering, food, art, computers, large projects and London, that are some of the passions that fill my life.
And hopefully, it will get rid of the lonely times, from which I still suffer.
Why Anonymous? That’s how you feel at times.
Basically price wins out over speed is what the article is suggesting and would agree there is a far quicker way of achieving modal shift then spending vast amounts of cash on HS2 by just keeping fares down.

And the message might get through more were it not for the fact that taxes make up 40% of the cost of traction electricity for rail, while aviation fuel is exempt from duty.

That anomaly can’t last much longer.
When I used to fly my Cessna to Europe, fuel was tax-free and I questioned it at the time. But it appears it could be an international agreement.
Here’s what Wikipedia says.
