When I saw this article I thought good. Widows must carry on.
But it’s totally from a female perspective. What about men like me!

About This Blog
What this blog will eventually be about I do not know.
But it will be about how I’m coping with the loss of my wife and son to cancer in recent years and how I manage with being a coeliac and recovering from a stroke. It will be about travel, sport, engineering, food, art, computers, large projects and London, that are some of the passions that fill my life.
And hopefully, it will get rid of the lonely times, from which I still suffer.
Why Anonymous? That’s how you feel at times.

The Anonymous Widower 
Let me first convey my deepest sympathies on the lost of your beloved wife. I know that yours has not been an easy road to travel.
I do get that question often, i.e., “What about the men?”. The fact is that because I’m not a man, I felt that it would have been an insult to widowers to try and write from a “male perspective”. Men are “hardwired” differently than women and their loss perspective is different. I felt that just as widows are insulted when a non-widow tells them, “I know how you feel” (after losing a spouse), had I tried to write from the widower perspective, men would have felt the same way – insulted and as though I could not possibly have any idea what a widower goes through. That said, we have several hundred widower members of Widows Wear Stilettos who have availed themselves of the education offered; both at the website and in the book; as things such as the “business” aspect of widowhood, dating again, raising children and so forth are universal.
I wish you peace as you continue along on your healing journey.

I must admit that I made the comment rather tongue in cheek. Some of the friends who have stood by me are widows, but what I find is that there is very little writing from a male perspective.
I agree with your last statement as we all have more in common than we don’t.
