Cynicism About the Cambridge Busway
The Cambridge Evening News has a poll for readers about when the busway will open. Voters are obviously showing a good deal of East Anglian cynicism.

I think it will open in February.

What this blog will eventually be about I do not know.
But it will be about how I’m coping with the loss of my wife and son to cancer in recent years and how I manage with being a coeliac and recovering from a stroke. It will be about travel, sport, engineering, food, art, computers, large projects and London, that are some of the passions that fill my life.
And hopefully, it will get rid of the lonely times, from which I still suffer.
Why Anonymous? That’s how you feel at times.
I have just checked the figures and it’s now 56.3% of voters think it will be finished just before the 2012 Olympics.

I’m also betting that the St Ives section will be abandoned in 2023 and the formation used for mass transit.

Why 2023?
I suppose you mean something like light rail. After all it would be dead easy to wind it’s way into Cambridge Station, as the railway used to do that!

2023. That’s easy. There won’t be the money to repair the busway. Remember the problems with the M11?

I also suspect that in a few years ridership will drop off, as people will work more at home due to the Internet. Then the traffic on the A14 will allow the others to Cambridge.
As Fraser said, “it’s doomed”.
