Stroke-Friendly Food

I just wanted to put up a post about my supper, which was a tuna steak cooked with green beans and tomatoes.  I’ve done it many times before, but today it tasted particularly good.

Why?

The wine even tasted better, so perhaps I’m getting my taste back.  Could the hay fever be finally receding? I don’t know, but I’m taking some Vitamin C tablets to help.

I do find some food is easier to eat than others.  Tuna steaks are easier to cut up, than say beef, so perhaps that was the reason.

Whatever it is, I’m glad I’m feeling better.

  1. Maybe you weren’t aware of a change in your sense of taste – which I believe is common after a stroke, may have been very slight in your case – maybe another sign of progress? That’s good!

  2. My dentist said that sometimes tomatoes can be a problem if you have a slight sore in your mouth. Which I do, from biting my cheek! But it could be getting better. I hope so!

  3. One thing I forgot to say was that after one of Waitrose’s TIffins-for-one, the curry really cleaned out my mouth and made everything taste better for twelve hours or so.
