Viruses on Smart Phones

It is being reported that smart phones are now being targeted using apps that contain trojans and viruses.

This is just another reason, why I stick to my Nokia 6310i

It is now ten years old and may be a bit battered like me, but it sends texts and hey, it makes phone calls too!

I can drop it, which because of my stroke, I frequently do and if I go away for a few days, I know it will stay charged long enough, so I don’t have to take the charger.

  1. Was in plaster with a broken tibia, fibula and ankle….

    I live alone…and the phone was/is a lifeline..literally.

So…where to keep it close to hand…for when I got stuck..say ..in and out of the bath…a girl has to do her hair….armed with 2 asda carriers and some sellotape…could get into the bath by doing western roll technique learned many years ago at school for the high jump..(see I did pay attention!!)
If I fell and phone was in trackie bottoms pocket..would break the phone…so had to find somwhere else..
Best place…tucked into my bra. In with the curves!!

If I fell ..the curves would shield the phone.

I was so hoping that I would need a rescue…can see the headlines now..
Barnsley woman stuck in bath resuced by firemen…just too creative I am…

  2. You have to laugh your way through problems. There is now a Samsung phone that is waterproof. Might be good to use in a bakery with all that flour about! But I still prefer my 6310i

  3. The 6310i is legendary. I recall travelling Business Class back in 2005, Heathrow to Moscow, and as soon as we landed everybody pulled out their 6310i’s.

Even today in 2011 their are many that swear by this phone. Myself included. The greatest phone ever designed and the only phone to perhaps reach near mythical status.

Nokia have never surpassed this genius engineering.

    • In Cambridge it seems that the bosses of many hi-tech companies have 6310is. A lot of taxi drivers do to, as they work so well on bluetooth.

If you need a new one, there’s a Sikh phone dealer/fixer in Bury St. Edmunds market, who sources second hand ones from India and then refurbishes them. £25 without a contract.

I’m away for the weekend and like to travel light. But even now, I have enough charge in the phone to last until next Friday. So the charger stays behind.

It proves that good engineering is timeless.

Even O2 sold me that to try and separate some customers from a 6310i is worse than ipossible. They’ve tried several times with me and now they’ve given up. I suspect, I’m not the only one.
