Pedestrian Crossings
Before this last stroke, I rarely used the lights, as being a Londoner, jay-walking is a sport to be enjoyed.
But not any more! I now push the button and wait. Usually it works, but twice I’ve been run over by aggressive buggy pushers, just standing there watching the lights changing.
Lots of buggy pushers think they rule the pavements, many dont move to let others past, and they often walk 2 or 3 abreast even when one of them has a double buggy.
They also often push their buggies out into the road between parked cars without looking where they are going!
Of course mobility scooter users are far more polite

It’s the cyclists you have to watch out for in London. Pedestrian crossings mean nothing to most of them – I have had many a near miss whilst crossing at a suppposedly safe green man.

Strangely, I haven’t had problems with cyclists, but they are a problem on the pavements in Cambridge.
Years ago, I was nearly run down behind Lion Yard as I walked round a corner on the pavement, by a maniac doing at least 30 mph. Luckily I was able to jump back and he missed me.
You would know but is Furious Riding still on the statute book?
