A Gluten-Free Bacon Sandwich

I bet some people who end up here, didn’t think it could exist.

A Gluten-Free Bacon Sandwich

It was made with organic bacon from Waitrose and a couple of slices of Genius brown bread.  I didn’t use butter, but Benecol.

It was a very nice sandwich!  I would say that wouldn’t I!

  1. I put mine on DS ciabetta roll or Antoinette Savile rolls, refreshed in the oven. I occasionally become very uncouth and have a chip buttie the same way.

  2. What would your mother have said about the chip buttie?

  4. She would be appalled at my “common behaviour”. But my nana used to let me have them when I went there for tea without my mum! My nana used to tell my mum off for being too hard on me. I often wonder what my life would have been like if my nana had lived until I reached adulthood

  6. My paternal grandfather was a sweetie, but he lived in Winchester, and then London, so I didnt see much of him. My paternal granny died when I was a toddler, so didnt really get to know her, I dont have much by way of memories. I think I have inherited some her better qualities though – she was resourceful and resilient and worked hard to help others. She was not a woman you crossed though! My maternal grandad died when I was a baby, so I dont remember him at all, but my maternal nana was kind to me.

  7. I never met either of my grandfathers and only knew my maternasl grandmother for a few months.

It’s funny how history repeats itself. My sons never met any of their grandfathers either.

  8. My great grandmother died when I was six. I found this out relatively recently, around 10 years ago, my parents never bothered to introduce me to her, or to Auntie Annie, who died aged 99 when I was 5, who had known my 4 x great grandad, who was born in 1793.

Angry just doesnt go there! Why did they not take me to meet them, and surely they will have wanted to meet a new baby or a young child!

  9. I’ve recently found out that my grandfather’s brothers lived well into the seventies. I wasn’t told either!
