As I was brought up partly in Felixstowe, I know how bad and decayed some of our old resorts can be. Here are a few pictures of the sea-front at Great Yarmouth.
It was clean and plesant and quite different to other old resorts, that I’ve visited recently.

What this blog will eventually be about I do not know.
But it will be about how I’m coping with the loss of my wife and son to cancer in recent years and how I manage with being a coeliac and recovering from a stroke. It will be about travel, sport, engineering, food, art, computers, large projects and London, that are some of the passions that fill my life.
And hopefully, it will get rid of the lonely times, from which I still suffer.

Not been to Yarmouth in many years.
Do clearly remember a visit in maybe 1956…my brother was in a pram so that would be about the right date…walking back across the promenade towards the hotel we were using, from the Wellington pier. Sister lost her specs down the side of the bath ..and Dad spent half the night trying to recover them…In the Fair ground at the side of Wellington pier still have the wodden bowl at the bottom of the Helter Skelter?? I was far too small than to go on that…
