It’s Grim Up North!

I am a soft Southerner and a proud Londoner to boot, with the tough genes of a true mongrel. But especially after today’s weather reports from Jockshire, no sane man or woman would want to live north of Cambridge. I might make an exception for Liverpool, as I like my culture to have an edge.

  1. Grim up here?? Oh yes it is.
Still have a lot of snow on the ground..ice everywhere…and foggy this morning.

I live on a quiet cul de sac…just off a main arterial road in Barnsley. Saturday 4th December…a whole week after the snow started…there was a snow plough on the road…so I watched from my window. Now being a thicko (others words to me)…even I know that to be effective, the front of the plough has to make contact with the snow..to push the snow out off the carriageway.
So the setting the blades a full 6 inches above the road…wont do much….and no it didnt. Complete waste of time and not a lot of effort. My questions..
    a) should I be grateful?
    b) Can someone explain it all to me, please?
    c) Can I walk back home asap…I havent had car out for over 10 days now…want to go to sleep..and I am at work.

Oh well…soon be Christmas…and a white Christmas whether we want it or not…

  2. It is very sunny here, will melt the surface of ice and snow, and then be very cold tonight so it freezes again! But the people are warm-hearted.

What have you done to your foot?

  4. At least you picked a place not to far from treatment! I am sorry they still bother you, I think we have talked about that in the past.

  5. I have the same trouble with my humerus. It was broken by a bully when I was 14 and left in a right mess. it’s been very painful since the stroke. But it’s not funny!

In fact it is best described as being as painful as it was about four or five months after the break.
