Folding Stools at the British Museum

I saw these clever folding stools in the British Museum yesterday.

Folding Stools at the British Museum

I like these, as they are a simple design, that does what is needed without fuss.  I didn’t use one, as I’m not that decrepit yet!

We need good design and the jobs it creates to get us out of the hole, that the clueless wunch of bankers dug for us.

  1. As a person with a disability I am always pleased to see this type of thing available in public places. I havent been to British Museum since my accident, but it is on my list, I believe it is mostly accessible by scooter.

At this point I have to shamefully admit that the reason I want to go is to see the Elgin Marbles. For some reason – before I had studied classics I hasten to add – I had assumed that the Elgin Marbles were round spheres of some kind. Then there was a TV programme, news item I think, which was about them, and a picture in the background of a classical sculpture; I commented on the picture, saying why was it there because they were talking about the Elgin Marbles. My dear husband informed me that it was a picture of one of the Elgin Marbles, at which point I realised I had been thinking the wrong kind of marble.

  2. My only advice would be to avoid the busy times. I was there late morning on Tuesday and you could really see everything properly.
