Scottish Devolution

They are debating this old chestnut on Radio 5 Live at the moment.

Apparently there has been a poll in The Sun, which says that those in England, Wales and Northern Ireland are more in favour of devolution than the Scots.

If they do leave the Union, then can they please take the Royal Bank of UK Taxpayers and its debts with them.  And they can keep that banker, Fred the Shred too!

The question has to be asked as to whether the EU would admit Scotland.  After all Spain has regions that would like independence and may vote against, as it doesn’t want Spain to split.

  1. I would vote for it as I am fed up with them complaining. I have absolutely nothing against the Scots; in fact I like them. I have done business with them on a number of occasions and I have found them both fair and good to work for.
One thing though, England should be prepared for devolution, even though it is very unlikely to happen. For example we are currently looking at building a power connection from Scotland to Iceland in order to buy some of their geothermal electricity. It would be better to run the cable into England so that in the event of Scottish devolution we would retain the use of the cable we have paid for.

    • You wonder why we want devolution and with comments like yours about the Islandic power line it is no wonder. You are acting as we are different countries and this goes on all the time. Money given to theroad works in Scotland by the EEC never got past London. Who is paying for the Olimpics is it only London. Why are you building specialsports venues in London when there are World Class cources all over the UK. I would get rid of your stones in the Greenhouse before you try to start throwing them.

  2. I know you dislike Scotland with a passion but if you want us to take back the RBS what do we do with the English defaulters and the deal done with the US as to save their own banking. Don’t be silly think about where the bad loans came from and the affect if we requested all the money back or the land !!! We would own England as well as a big bit of USA.

    • You could always swap Glasgow for Tripoli! You’d get some oil and they’d get a few more religious nutters.
