Annoyances On Rail Ticket Web Sites

Too often you fill in a page to buy a ticket and then click buy, only to find that your entry has been rejected because you haven’t clicked a box to do something they think is important.  So you have to fill it all in again.  It would be much better to have a little pop-up box, asking the question you haven’t answered.

This is not specifically a train probem, but they seem to be the worst offender.

  1. I am always exasperated by the rail websites. They always assume that you know the rail system as they require you to enter the start and end stations for the journey. If I want to visit a friend, I know where I start from (usually home) and I know where I want to go. I just want to enter addresses/postcodes and get told the best train route to use for time and for cost. Where I live there are 3 potential rail lines I could use, and I never know which is best for a particular journey and so I end up having to try all three. Quite often I give up and use the car!
