The Wisdom of Stuart Pearce

Ask a tabloid journalist and they’ll tell you that Stuart Pearce’s philosophy is summed up by his nickname; Psycho.

But look him up on Brainy Quote and you get a totally different view.

Here’s a couple of examples of quotes from Stuart Pearce.

But to me the bottom line is the more education you can give yourself, and the more preparation you can do, the less chance of failing.

I am one of those people who quite enjoys responsibility.

If my results are not good I will lose my job.

There are no quotes of any sort for Harry Redknapp.

  1. In my youth I used on occasion to see Harry at the Ilford Palais, His only chat-up line was “‘Allo.I play football for West ‘am”, but he didn’t get many takers.

    • I don’t think that quote fits Brainy Quotes criteria.

  2. I think on an international management level, Pearce is a heavy-weight competitor for Redknapp, and I back him for manager here: http://postandin.wordpress.com/2012/02/09/capello-resigns-you-dont-need-to-look-far-for-his-replacement/

  3. I don’t think Pearce had much wisdom when he racially abused Paul Ince. His brother is/was in the BNP. It’s a background he may not have fully left behind.

    • I felt a bit the same when I saw the BNP connection. On the other hand, someone who has been connections than I, has an opposite view.

    • Yeah I also had worries over that. But I don’t think Stuart is like that and he has categorically denied that his brother’s beliefs are his own. Every player/manager has a negative aspect to their past if you look hard enough

      • His brother’s BNP connection is all the tabloids can find. I suspect, if you look closely at ‘arry they would find something. But they won’t look, as he’s the Messiah!

      • Yeah, I’d start with his accounting…

  4. As Stuart Pearce once advertised his electrical business in the Notts Forest program, he must have had that bit sorted.
