NBC Treats Paralympics With Contempt
Two of the UK’s broadsheets; The Times and The Telegraph, have turned their ire this morning on to the American broadcaster NBC, for its appalling coverage of the Paralympic Games. read the report in The Telegraph here.
I know I’m not watching the Paralympics live, as I don’t watch channels with adverts, unless it’s an important sporting event, that I’m interested in. But I am following the Games on BBC Radio 5 Live and television news reports.
I could cynically suggest that no-one in America would advertise in the breaks of the Paralympics, as it might give your organisation the wrong image. But I don’t know the facts.
Here in the UK, all the major channels have back-up digital channels, like BBC with BBC3 and BBC4 and Channel 4 with More4 and E4, which they use to compliment their major coverage, so can’t NBC put the Paralympics on a back-up free-to-air digital channel or is America so sophisticated that it doesn’t have an equivalent of our Freeview.
[…] I wonder if her inspiring story will appear on NBC. […]

Team GB People are wrong to expect NBC to perform above this standard, it’s not in their Genes or Psyche to be as Good as the BBC . . .
In Oz we suffered from some idiotic TV decisions {during the Olympic Games}, made by Gens who haven’t a Clue about TV or Entertainment or even Advertising / Marketing.
To the Idiots at NBC . . . if you don’t know what you are doing . . . how do you know what you are missing ?
The Fallback to BBC Radio . . . is not a fallback, but a step up to quality Sports Coverage . . . I used BBC Radio, for comprehensive great coverage, during the 2012 Olympics.

Freeview in the UK gives a lot of other coverage, as it enables a station to have several channels. We also have extra so-called red-button coverage on most channels. So say there is tennis on, you can get other matches by choosing them from a menu. Even BBC Radio has a lot of extra channels on digital radio or the Internet.
When I was in hospital in Hong Kong, BBC Radio was a lifeline coming through the Internet.

This year the Olympics Games TV Monopoly, had Legally stopped any other station taking any content, unless under strict rules . . . this included Print Media, Radio & TV . . . unlike any other games {measured in a couple of minutes of static pictures} . . .
The Worst Games Coverage Ever . . . BUT our Overnight ABC NEWS takes BBC Programs . . .
Thank Goodness for my 9.00 pm BBC Sports Coverage . . .
This coverage, was like the Advertising Restrictions imposed on Londoners . . . it is also called Anti-Adverts {you can protest by not using the Anti-Ad Products & Services} . . . Big Brother is not here in the Social Media Age . . .
Social Media . . . well used provided a lot of coverage.

We have a law here which states that some sporting events must be available free to air. The Olympics is one.
On the other hand most non-free to air sports is available on Sky Sports 1 and 2, which are available with a special Internet box from BT, if you don’t want or can’t have a satellite dish.
I have a list of products and companies I don’t use. I’ll post them with reasons one day.
