Let’s Stop Smoking At The Top

I am a militant anti-smoker.  You will be, if you’ve lost a son because of his smoking.  They’ve just had a government minister on 5 Live starting another campaign.

But it needs an example at the top of society!

Why not state on the ballot paper for all elections, whether the candidate is a smoker or not! I would never vote for a smoker!

  1. Tasmanian Government are looking at prohibiting sales to an age group who have not started smoking yet as kids . . . this will make Cigarette Sales illegal some time into the future {about 6 years} . . .

Tassie cigs will be limited to older smokers in ablout six years {If you don’t start, as a kid . . . then you are likely to have a healthier livestyle}. . . every hurdle . . . to stop smokers.

The Cigarette Companies are going tropo trying to stop Aussies . . . They lost a High Court Challenge to stop plain packaging. The Cig Companies tried to get Ukraine to sue Oz in WTO {that failed too} . . .

    • My old GP, who was a good friend, swapped his practice for one in Canada for a year or so. A lot of his patients there, were North American Indians. They all smoked like chimneys and none ever got lung cancer, He put it down to the fact that for centuries, they had smoked from the age of about four. So if you were susceptible to lung cancer, you probably got it and died before you reproduced. So Darwin’s theory of natural selection was working correctly and ensuring that any genes making you susceptible to lung cancer were removed from the gene pool.
