The Cost Of Christmas

I suppose I can afford the cost of Christmas, but others can’t.  This article speculates that in London about half a million will turn to short term lenders.

Hopefully, people will start to see sense, especially after the government limits the charges in a couple of years time.

My worry, is that any legislation will push the really needy into the arms of illegal loan sharks.

  1. I think they should teach budgetting and basic household financial management to teens in school. I come across so many folk who just go and get credit for things they dont need or could wait for. Then end up in a mess

    • I agree totally.

A good video by a good comic would also help. There has been a few reports that the Vinny Jones video about heart massage has saved a cou0ple of lives.

      • Yes, something light hearted and fun. It stuns me how little people know about basic stuff. Teaching how to cook nutritious meals from scratch with a cost limit would help too. We taught our girls this stuff, but many parents didn’t, and young couples today haven’t a clue, so their kids won’t be learning it either.
