I Bet They See A Coeliac Is Treated Correctly
I haven’t been to Bologna for many years, but I enjoyed the food there. However, this lady, who is a vegetarian, finds the city difficult as she reports.
I suspect though, as it’s Italy, coeliacs get treated correctly.
My Mum is from Parma, and I am celiac…tough life, I must admit, every time I go there, people ask me thousands of details about my disease, and I even once had a quarrel with some very good friends of mine, maintaining that I am just paranoid…and at Christmas eve my mum claimed that ham is not meat, exactly as the reporter in her article said!!!

I’ve never had a problem about being coeliac in Italy, ever since at lunch by a hotel pool, when asked what I wanted for lunch, I said I couldn’t as I was coeliac. But they said don’t worry, as they had gluten-free pasta. It was the first time, I’d had it in a restaurant. Now all over Italy from Sicily to Vence, I’ve had some wonderful gluten-free food. I just say I’m a coeliachai. Even in London, you’ll often find that the humblest Italian restaurant or cafe, knows the form.
