The Cruise and Duty Free
I never bother with duty-free, as I don’t smoke and don’t want to carry heavy bottles of booze that I might break. I did once drop a bottle of Bell’s on the floor at Dulles Airport in Washington. And it broke!
But when duty-free sales were announced on the Tannoy on Oriana, I was very surprised at the rush.

I think a lot of people bring things in for friends – I have always refused to bring cigarettes in for anyone, we have sometimes brought spirits, but often they are dearer, or as dear, as supermarkets. When Neil was in Navy he brought me the occasional bottle of perfume. Dark Chocolate Toblerone is another matter entirely.
