David Aaronovitch Blames Journalists Over MMR
In a hard hitting opinion in The Times today, he effectively blames journalists for stoking up the MMR fiasco. Here’s the final paragraph.
The MMR scare was the fault of journalists of all stripes. With honourable exceptions, notably Brian Deer, hacks combined to mislead the public, and now those same journalists want to deny responsibility for it. They shouldn’t be allowed to. Forget phone hacking and paparazzi, MMR is the Hillsborough of my profession.
We need quality journalism in the UK, not scare and celebrity stories that sell papers to the gullible.
Having lost my brother to MMR and seeing the filth in so called modern hospitals it is about time something is done instead in pampering all of these drug addicts with money which we need to spend it on proper care for the people. In saying that management needs a good kick up the jacksy in allowing this to get to the extent that it is today. Bring back the good old warhorse sisters as they knew how to look after people and had impeccable cleanliness standards and MMR was never heard off in their days. Why will the press not do something on this matter or is it too political to even bring up?
