The Bridges Of Berwick-upon-Tweed
I took these pictures as my train from Edinburgh to Newcastle crossed the border into England on the Royal Border Bridge.
The main bridge in the picture is the Royal Tweed Bridge with Berwick Bridge behind.
This Google Earth image shows the three major bridges in the area and Berwick-upon-Tweed station above the town.

It’s the the most beautiful pull-in and pull-out of any station I’ve yet visited. And the train announcer’s words on a recent visit were priceless. ‘Welcome to the Costa-del-Berwick. Don’t forget the factor 50!’

The best pull-in I’ve ever done was into Inverness in the dark, when I went from Edinburgh to Inverness in the cab of a High Speed Train.
