Is Sadiq Khan Frightened Of Saint Joanna?

This report on the BBC is entitled London Mayor Sadiq Khan backs ‘more accessible’ Garden Bridge plans.

I think the Garden Bridge should be quietly forgotten and the money used to connect Barking Riverside to Thamesmead.

I would have also thought, that the bridge would be the sort of project that  few would mourn its passing.

So is Sadiq Khan frightened of Saint Joanna?

Especially, as last year, he didn’t think it was value for money!

  1. I think they should abandon the garden bridge and do something about the plight of homeless people in the city. As I walk around Manchester I am very struck by the new type of rough sleepers. These people often don’t have drug or alcohol issues, are not lazy or uneducated or mentally ill. Many of them have been evicted through no fault of their own, and find themselves with nowhere to live, thus no money, and they have no option but to register as a rough sleeper – these people all carry official ID stating this, and if they are begging, they are doing so pay for a room in a cheap B&B. They were people how learnt the hard way that they were one payday from the streets. I usually have a chat, they are nice people with interesting stories, on the waiting list for a hostel.
