The Holloway Road Bridge Is Now Open
I took these pictures this morning of the reopened bridge by Upper Holloway station.
Note there are no wires on the tracks of the Gospel Oak to Barking Line. But it does look, that the line could be run with the current Class 172 trains

About This Blog
What this blog will eventually be about I do not know.
But it will be about how I’m coping with the loss of my wife and son to cancer in recent years and how I manage with being a coeliac and recovering from a stroke. It will be about travel, sport, engineering, food, art, computers, large projects and London, that are some of the passions that fill my life.
And hopefully, it will get rid of the lonely times, from which I still suffer.

I guess they are intending to re-open the line in Feb using the two-car dmus. Then I expect there will be weekend closures to enable finishing the masts and hanging the catenary etc. The new four-car electrics aren’t due until 2018 so they’ll have time to get the 25kv up and running.

That would appear to be the intention.
Although, I wouldn’t be surprised to see a test train or two running on the line, if they can find some suitable stock.
They might also run a few electric freight trains through, when the wiring is complete.
After all, there’s nothing that tests a line, like a real train to test things like electrical interference.
