I Live In An Election Poster-Free Area

I gaven’t seen a poster for the election yet.

Although, I did see one St. George’s Cross, but England were playing that night.

  1. There aren’t any in the constituency in which I live, but as soon as I am over the border into the next constituency – less than a mile from my home in one direction – there are lots and lots of orange LibDem posters. That constituency has swung between Tory and LibDem for some years – at one time it had a majority of 31 for LibDem. Currently conservative but the serving MP isn’t too popular, and there are no conservative posters that I have seen.

  2. There was a time when political party names did not appear on ballot forms which meant parties had to distribute leaflets for display in front windows so you knew John Smith was say Labour .

This was the norm in the 1960s .Its since they started showing Party name for candidates that door to door canvassing has died out except in marginal seats .

    • I pretty much suspect that the area in which I live is very much what would have been called a Champagne Socialist area on the days of Tony Blair! Perhaps, they don’t want a brick through their window?
