Ikea Cuts Sick Pay For Unvaccinated Staff Forced To Self-Isolate
The title of this post, is the same as that as this article on the BBC.
This is the introductory paragraph.
Ikea has cut sick pay for unvaccinated staff who need to self-isolate because of Covid exposure and in some cases for workers who test positive.
The article also says that Wessex Water and several major US companies have started penalising unvaccinated workers.
I agree with Ikea’s policy, as in a society, there are some rules that we must follow for the good of everybody.
If people don’t want to be vaccinated, they should either work for a company where everybody is unvaccinated or work at home.
Give them a bell and make them walk around crying “unclean, unclean!”
Only [half] joking…
I certainly don’t want my freedom curtailed by being unable to go where vaccine and mask refusenicks, can easily infect me.

Neither do I – I have been shielding for well over 18 months, as I have chronic leukaemia, and thus very little natural immunity. With three primary doses of vaccine, and booster now due, and monoclonal antibodies etc available, then I have been going out a tiny bit. People who think they knew better than scientists are welcome to try the herbs their bodies will tell them to have if they catch covid. I will take the monoclonal antibodies!

I agree with what you say James. Especially in IKEA which is always busy and everyone is in the store for hours because once you are in you can’t find your way out again! I don’t often go there anyway. In fact in the past 18+ plus months I have been in the Gift Shop at The Christie, just to the rack that sells puzzle books – Sudoku, Killer Sudoku and Kakuro, and sometimes a Crossword book. And one day I was driving to the post office, and passed Waitrose and noticed the car park was deserted, so I went and got some of their frozen gluten free Egg Custard Tarts because I love them and nowhere else sells them. And, as I said, the post office to get stamps for Christmas cards and post gifts. Everything else we either do online, or Neil does it. I don’t enjoy shopping in IKEA.
