An Aborted Trip To Cardiff

I got up early, this morning with the aim of spending a day in Cardiff looking at the progress on the Valley Lines and have a drink with a friend.

But the trip is off, as there are no trains to Heathrow and Reading on the Elizabeth Line, due to a shortage of staff.

There are also some gaps in the Great Western Railway service to Cardiff, for the same reason.

Is this to show sympathy with Putin?

  1. I see no cancellations on the Lizzie Line this morning except to Heathrow (Reading services are fine) and there is the standard Sunday GWR hourly service to Cardiff (and beyond). There are however issues on the Cardiff Valleys lines…. Not sure where you got your information from.

    • I checked on National Rail and they appeared to be late starting. But they have started now!

  2. TfL site says no station staff at Heathrow use Picc line trains but trains are still running in/out Heathrow so that looks out of date info.

Heathrow is a mission critical station gateway into UK and thus should have a resilient staffing plan. Oh and every time ive been to Munich Airport and used S Bahn into city you never see any staff so how come Heathrow needs it its not as if its not got plenty of security and police staff in the airport should any issue arise.
