My Phone Died!

So I bought a new one!

I’ve managed to set it up, but it’s so different to my previous Samsung, that i haven’t a clue hoe to use it. I also made the mistake of using a secure password, which it constantly asks me.

I’m seriously, thinking of giving up having a mobile phone.

Can’t designers leave well enough alone!

I hate being ripped off!

  1. I’m sitting here thinking the same thoughts. I previously had an Android One phone (there were 3 or 4 manufacturers that produced them), which changed only gradually with
model upgrades and so were easy to adapt to. These had the Android Base Operating System over which Samsung and and all the other manufacturers apply their unnecessary bloatware and User Interface Software. Unfortunately these ghouls have strangled the life out of Android One phones so I too bought a Samsung. Never again.

  2. Which one have you got?

  3. I got a new battery installed in my old phone. The only problem is the new update put a picture over critical data and it is very complicated to switch off. It always comes back after a fue weeks.

  4. Can you not replace the password with a four-digit PIN? Or set up face or fingerprint recognition?

    • I can’t find where to change the password.

I’ve tried several times to put in fingerprint recognition, that I used on my previous Samsung phone, but it doesn’t respond to my finger.

This could be because they’re using a new sensor, that has problems with reading my skin.

I can’t use some railway ticket machines, like those in Sweden or on Northern Rail, as they don’t respond to my fingers.

I wonder, if I can get my money back because the phone can’t handle my skin?

      • On my Samsung Galaxy A20e, the security settings are at Settings (swipe up and tap the grey gearwheel) > Biometrics and security. But there is no password setting, so I’m wondering whether the password you need to change is in fact the password for your Google account. I could be wrong, though… As an aside, I love my A20e!

      • Did you copy all the settings from your old phone to the new one, if not you’ll have to set it up as Chris L says.
If your settings were transferred could the failure to activate the fingerprint scanner be down to Samsung having used three different locations, some are on the back of the phone, some towards the bottom of the front screen, and in my Samsung it’s actually the power button.
