A Surprisingly E-Mail From A Lady
I just had an e-mail from a well-brought up lady, which mentioned the word, Arseblog.
It’s not about what it could be, but the name of a blog, that provides text commentary for the well-known London team, that she supports.
Ipswich Town Supporters in London
I’ve just set up a web site for Ipswich Town supporters, who live and/or work in London.
I have used WordPress to set it up and it can be viewed at ipswichtownlondon.wordpress.com.
In some ways it is showing how you can use WordPress to create a Blog-Based Small Business. Although this isn’t a business, we’re trying to attract Ipswich Town supporters and create a source of useful information.
A Friend’s Blog
A friend has just started a blog.
Crash Course Widow
I’ve just added this blog to the Blogs on Widowhood.
I tried to post a comment on the blog and WordPress and Blogger did their usual non-cooperation.
WordPress Statistics
My WordPress statistics haven’t seemed to add up for a week or so.
For instance, today, someone left a pingback on this blog and the counter didn’t move. The number of searches that brought people to the blog also equals the number of views and this can’t be right as pages that don’t relate to these searches are in the top pages.
Also a few days ago, I had thirty hits from someone searching for “Lotus Elan Yellow” and none of the pages about the Elan was in the top pages.
Am I paranoid or is there something wrong?
Copyright Please!
This post on another blog is mine!
Where’s the copyright?
Nowhere!
I just tried to post a pleasant message on his site, but it asked me to answer the challenge and didn’t give me any challenge. Not good!
The Irreverent Widow
I’ve just added a site called The Irreverent Widow to this blog.
Being widowed is a serious business and it needs a bit of humour and a lot of commonsense.
This is a typical comment.
In grief, as in dog walking, one must ask: “Is putting the poop in a plastic bag & tossing it really the wisest way to deal with it?”
Not sure. But we need a lot more robust thinking on death and widowhood.
I shall be reading more.
J In Wales
This is another blog on widowhood.
I liked this post on shearing sheep. What was it W. C. Fields said about children and animals?
Merry Widow
Kate Boydell was widowed in 1998 and founded Merry Widow as a survival guide for young widows. She has written books and the resource has grown considerably, with lots of advice, a diary and a forum.
Give it a look.
Surviving Middle-Aged Widowhood
My heart goes out to this lady.
It’s one thing to lose your partner and then yet another to see everything disintegrate over the next few years, due to circumstances and the credit crunch. She also has two children to support.
I was lucky, in that I’m reasonably rich and my youngest child was in their mid-thirties.
