VIP on Norfolk Line
I’m actually posting this whilst travelling in VIP class on Norfolk Line between Dover and Dunkirk. For my extra £10 I get free coffee, tea, snacks and on this trip, a free glass of wine and wi-fi.
But the biggest benefit is you get to get off the boat first.
I think the one-way trip cost me £48, but VIP is per person, so if there are four of you it could almost double the price of the trip.
I’m actually watching Crincinfo for the Ashes and the BBC for the European Grand Prix.
The connection is slow, but the scores and placings get through.
The Olympic Stadium Rises
I drove past the London 2012 Olympic Stadium on the way to Dover to get the Norfolk Line ferry to Dunkirk. That may seem an illogical way to go, but if there was a serious accident on the M25, I’ll miss the boat.
Not much there that’s visible yet, but then most of a building is underground and in the framework. The site appeared very busy with lots of cranes and equipment. But as it was Sunday, there was only a small number of people. That in itself is probably a good sign, as they’re not late yet.
Arbutus, 63-64 Frith Street, Soho, London
This is one of my favourite restaurants and it didn’t disappoint last night.
The interesting thing about Arbutus is that the chef is a coeliac, so when you ask for gluten-free food you get gluten-free food without contamination.
I think this was my sixth visit. My late wife liked it too!
