The Times has the headline right in every way, when it reports on Iran’s proposed stoning of a woman for adultery.
What can we do about it? Very little! Except sign the petition.

What this blog will eventually be about I do not know.
But it will be about how I’m coping with the loss of my wife and son to cancer in recent years and how I manage with being a coeliac and recovering from a stroke. It will be about travel, sport, engineering, food, art, computers, large projects and London, that are some of the passions that fill my life.
And hopefully, it will get rid of the lonely times, from which I still suffer.

Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I cannot imagine having to suffer such a horrible death. I read an article that says they bury you up to your neck and then stone you to death. If you are able to break free of the hole you are buried in, you are set free. I wonder how often if ever that has happened. This is so inhumane!

We must strive with all our efforts to consign the death penalty to the dustbin of history. If I have a choice, I do not buy anything from countries that still support it!

What really upsets me even more is that in some countries if a man rapes a woman he gets off scott free and woman is stoned to death because she must have made the man do it by being somehow immodest! There are likely a great many crimes against women which go unreported by the women because of fear.

Absolutely. Note too, how many npolice are working on honour killings.
All of these problems need solving.
