Shmpoo Rage

My hair is what I call normal, especially since I went gluten-free, which cured my dandruff.  But are their any normal shampoos left.  In Waitrose today, I could get shampoo for everything like frizz, colour and dry, but not for normal!

So I@m going back to Fairy Liquid

It sounds like one for the new Discrimination Act!

  1. Shampoos are silly there are so many of them, same as toothpaste.

I suggest you go to a decent branch of Boots, they have stuff that is just shampoo for normal hair, very cheaply compared to some of the stuff on sale, which works well for short male hair. My daughters both have wonderful natural curls, and they use all the fancy stuff. The normal cheap stuff makes their heads look a bale of straw.

  2. The one I used to use has rebranded and is now twice the price as it’s now advertised by a strumpet. And the normal hair shampoo I want has been discontinued.

Incidentally, I used to work for ICI and they made the base for all shampoos and other things, like industrial cleaning fluids. So that probably means it’s gluten free as it’s a chemical, which has gone nowhere near anything that was animal or vegetable.

  3. Some modern ones have wheatgerm in – I dont use those ones, hadnt been doing for years as they made my scalp itch. I never got on with wheat bags either for pain, and it is only know I realise why I used to feel bloated and grumpy.

Is strumpet a local word. I have a family history written by a distant family members in about 1925, and she tells the tale that my Gt Gt grandfather, Charles Tipple kept his strumpet in a varda in the stable block.

  4. The general definition of a strumpet seems to be a prostitute or promiscuous woman.

  5. yes, I suspect that may have been a description of Rebekah, although Charles wasnt well behaved around women either from what this information said. They lived in East Anglia, a village called Clenchwarton near to Kings Lynn. Jenny, Charles’ wife, my gt gt granny, died of breast cancer fairly young, and Charles married his strumpet very shortly afterwards, although they had no more children. He had six daughters with Jenny, whose names all began with E. I can see a photo of them as I sit here, they are taking afternoon tea. I can also see the tea service they used, the tea pots etc are upstairs
