Little (And Big) Boxes Everywhere

Today the recycling collection takes place and I’ve just thrown out 32 boxes that were used by the movers for packing.

Boxes for Recycling

I bet I was charged for every box, so shouldn’t they pick them up for a reward.  Obviously, this wouldn’t be practical in all cases, but surely with moves to a large town or city, it would save money and create less carbon dioxide all round.

  1. Is there a Freecycle/Realcycle/Freegle or similar in your area, my local one has boxes offered several and taken several times a week.

  3. Some removal companies take them back and reuse them. Pickfords did when I moved here, but that was 17 years ago.

  5. Large boxes …make good covers for car windscreens…which in this snow..has to be good..and less messy than newspapers.

I use a nice “bloomer 8” box myself (out of the bakery) and used for the last 5 weeks…

Wouldnt mind recycling this snow…fed up of it now..

  7. Neil uses an old piece of lino. I cant manoevre stuff, so I use de-icer! If Neil is around he scrapes the ice for me. Although I have said I will use deicer!

We keep boxes in our cellar, we post things a lot. Although moving size boxes are probably too big. I do so much of my non-food shopping online, we get lots of boxes.
